- Villa La Maja was built in 1969, a very sturdy structure. Nevada Square and Hyatt Regency Hotel, close by toppled down during the 1990 earthquake. Villa La Maja Hotel only incurred minor cracks.
- The building is a structure surrounded by flowering gardens giving you a feeling of openness and space . The structure has lots of entrance and exits unlike the common commercial rectangular box-like hotels. During the Ozone layer fire tragedy in Manila, fire marshals inspected all Baguio hotels for safety fire exists, Villa La Maja Hotel was rated 100% fire safe.
- VLM Hotel is located on Outlook Drive behind the Presidential Mansion House, close to Country Club, John Hay and Mines View Park. It has tall Pine trees in front and behind the hotel structure still relatively free from traffic, smoke belchers and noise pollutants.
- The hotel has potable deep well water and a generator. The surroundings, facilities and amenities are clean and has been rated by DOH as “Very Satisfactory“.
